1996 Ranger Splash 4.0

I have totally rebuilt the engine of this truck. Now, when I turn the key, nothing. I have replaced every major item and have a new key switch. It is getting no gas to the fuel rail. I can turn it over with a remote starter so the engine, I think, can run. I have checked the gas cut off and it looks to be fine. Is there something that would cause this, maybe a wire unplugged, that anyone knows of? Thanks

What exactly is it doing when you turn the key?

If nothing at all then I'd look at the ignition/starter system to see why it's not turning over. If a remote starter works, but your installed one doesn't, I'd definitely concentrate efforts there.
