This is my first posting on any site like this so please correct any of my errors. I think a lot of people find this site because they are looking for answers to problems with their truck which is exactly why I'm here.
Have a 1997 2 door Sport 4x4 with 5 speed trans.

But to the current issues. I just had the third clutch installed a month ago @140k miles. I've never had any of my vehicles go thru as many clutches in so short a distance. The issue right now is the trans grinds but only occasionally. The only time it does it is when I take my foot off the gas as

I'm going forward and ususally at a speed of at least 25 MPH. The grinding stops immediately if I step on the gas or if I take it out of gear.

I took it back to the repair shop and he started telling me that the trans is the problem and i'm lucky that it made it to 140k. I told him that this problem did not pre-exist the new clutch. I have to admit that it was hard shifting, especially into reverse before the new clutch but no other problems.
It does seem like the engagement of the clutch is very low to the floor (maybe an inch or two) when I expected it to be much higher for a new install.

If this is not the right forem to post this, please let me know which one is right.
Thanks
