1997 exlorer help

I have a 1997 explorer xl When i'm using my headlights (nightime driving) my 4*4 and 4*4 low lights blink on and off, sometimes the od off light blinks as well, does anyone have any ideas what may cause this.

Well, this is just a guess...but it's an educated guess. All three of those indicator lights (plus the cruise control indicator) receive power from the headlight switch...and the dimmer module in front of that. I would say you have a headlight switch or dimmer module problem.
