Hi guys first post and a long one.LOL. I have a 97 explorer 2wd 4.0. The transmission od light will come on and flash sometimes causing hard shifts.
This has been occuring for 8 years.
I was told it was the torque converter, but in 8 years and 100,000 later I don't think it is the converter.LOL.
The fluid has been changed many times. I have been doing research and beleive it is the valve body gasket and solenoids.
My question is this, has anyone bought one of the rebuilt valve bodies for around $80. Seems to me this would be a way to go instead of buying new solenoids. Thanks in advance and sorry for the 1st post being so long.
