Hi all,

So I was wondering if someone could tell me the specs of my u bolts - 1997 explorer 4x4 4.0L. I added a short add a leaf from pro comp and now I've decided to also add a long pro comp leaf and/or shackles. I want to get new u bolts because i've over torqued one side and the U bolts are just obviously old anyways.. I am pretty sure I know the U bolts I need, but does anyone know the exact specs of my current U Bolts (stock)?

also if anyone could tell me the pro comp U bolts/kit I should order that would be awesome. Obviously I don't want to order the wrong one and I need one which is longer

Thanks for your time everyone. Nice to get input from people who have done this stuff already.

Cheers,

Can anybody tell me is it easy to change front u bolts on a ford explorer?
There are no front u bolts on your truck. U bolts hold the axle to the leaf springs.
Maybe you mean u joints?

I meant U joint correct. Here is what is going on. Around 67 mph it makes a rumbling / vibration sound. Vibrates the whole cabin. I've had the tires balanced / rotated. Someone told me it might be the U joints. My question is. Why would it only happen around 67 mph? Not 70. Not 80. Not 55. Just right in that zone of about 65 - 68 mph.

I suggest you start a new thread about it, rather than buried in a 9 year old thread about a different topic.
