Erick is that a V8 or V6?

It is a v8 with no switching between all wheel and 4 low or high

The AWD is a full time system, so you will get power to the fronts however it should not bind as it has an open differential. Are all of the tires the same size/tread depth/inflation? Do you know of any modifications done to the truck (ie lockers)?

Yes all tires are the same. But I have now found that the right side is about an inch lower than the left side and both front tires are wearing very a lot on the inside.
So now am thinking there is a alignment/shock/? issue too.
Any ideas?

Ball joints possibly.

Agree on the ball joints. These trucks are fairly well known for eating through the front end components -- ball joints, control arm bushings, hubs, swaybar end links, tierod ends. There are plenty of good reference materials in the stickies section that will walk you through the process of testing and repairing them.

Thanks I will look at them.
I did jack it up and try to find loose parts, but all look solid.
