All I need to do is remove the fan on my 4.0 sohc. I have taken out the four 10 mil bolts from the back side and have the shroud loose. Is this all I need to do? How does the fan separate from the clutch?

i believe there is a 1 5/16 nut right behind the fan that needs to loosened. The best way i found to go about doin this is to, leave serpentine belt on(to keep pressure on the pulley, and use an open end wrench,or channel locks, to grab the nut and turn it counter clockwise.

If the belt slips while your trying to turn the nut, then use a c clamp or something of the sort and try to squeeze 2 pieces of the belt together(by the alternator works well) to squeeze the belt together while u loosen the nut.

hope this helps

Thanks
I was hoping I could just remove the fan and not the clutch but I visited a dealer and saw the parts blow up today. Gotta take the clutch off.... thanks again!!
