1997 Remote Entry

We just bought a 97 Explorer that doesn't have a keypad entry, only power locks. I do not see the "RAP module " in the back. I don't know if the key fobs we just bought will work. I have tried the ignition key-cycle on/off 5 times to get into "program mode", but no luck.

Can any one help me out on this... Did Ford offer Power Locks without remote entry? If not, how would I program remotes in this case?

I saw this same question eaitler from "ExplorerMan98"...but un-answered.

Yes Ford had power locks without remote. Just having the remotes alone won't do you any good without the rest of the system in place. One of our members just found this out the hard way very recently.
