1997 v8 AWD
I just bought a 1997 awd v8. THere is a vibration at low speeds that you can fill coming up through the floor boards and brak pedal. It almost seems like something is binding?? YOu notice it the most when pulling out from a stop sign up until about 10 or so mph or when slowing down from a set speed to roughly 0-15 mph it comes back?? Also a lot of road noise from the front area as well. Thanks

The first place to start on the AWD's is the front driveshaft. There is a CV joint on the transfer case side and a regular u joint on the diff side. The CV joint is the one that fails, and it cannot be rebuilt. So you will need a new shaft if thats the problem.

Its a short driveshaft and the CV joint can be a little tough to check - You may need to unbolt the shaft to get enough movement in the joint to really check it out.

On the bright side the V8 / 4r70w tranny combo is very reliable.
