1997 XLT 5.0 AWD VSS and ABS locations?

1997 XLT 5.0 AWD

Ok, the best I can tell from searching is the following, please let me know if this is correct or not...

I looked underneath, and I have connectors on the t-case and rear axle.


The VSS is located in the tailshaft housing of the t-case?
The ABS sensor is located in the rear differential housing?


I am planning my SAS and will be replacing the transfer case and rear axle. I will need the VSS, but not the ABS.

Thanks for the confirmation. It should be easy to decide what rear axle to use... but not as easy to decide on a t-case. I would like to use an old NP205 because they are crazy strong and dependable and I already own 4 of them, but I'll have to research what it would take to put a VSS in one of them.
