I am thinking of replacing factory light bulbs (hi/lows and fog) with aftermarket, white, street legal ones. I used to have CoolBlue by Sylivania in my old Taurus, and was going to get the same ones for my 1997 XLT, but can't seem to find appropriate fog light bulbs. I have rectangular fog lights, and want to have headlights and fogs be the same color temperature/look.

The question is: what solutions (bulb types) explorer owners use in this forum?

your headlights are 9007. try the sylvania silverstars. The fogs are 899 or 893, check ebay for the xenon or hyper white kinds

885's fit too. They're brighter too!! 55w compared to 37.5w on 893's and 899's. And it won't melt the housing nor wiring harness.

combo...

I would like to know what exact brands (not only partnumbers) and types you are using in your X's, since I want to be streetlegal, have even look (color temp) and I'm on a budget...

The ones I got are fine. I'm not sure about legality but cops don't care. I've had superwhite bulbs for 2 years already and never was pulled so... Here's a link to one of ebay's auctions
