1998 Eddie Bauer w/ ARC and shock replacement

I am trying to replace the OEM shocks on my 1998 Explorer, 5 liter, V-8, 4WD with the Eddie Bauer package. This has the Automatic Ride Control feature which requires special shocks OEM parts number 18124 and 18125.

I was wondering if any of you had any experience with using the KYB GR2 fronts and back replacement shocks, and whether these are true replacements and what level of difficulty is involved. Any comments would be appreciated. Thanks

Wondering the same thing about my '96 Limited. The rear shocks will not hold air and I'm tired of driving around in a "Switch Off" low rider

Your reference to KYB shocks are the first non oem shocks I've heard of.

I don't even want to price OEM shocks from Ford...

Anyone know of direct non oem replacements or do I need to peddle the old girl with only 168,000 miles on her and buy an Escape?
