1998 Explorer switch

My daughters 1998 Explorer instrument panel dimmer switch is giving my ton's of grief. I bought used one from fleabay, kinda-sorta was better than the original one. junkyards units, were crap.

Problem, no one has a new one, Local old school parts house told me Standard makes a new one (PN DS-2269), but they are out of stock nationally.

Anyone know where I can get a new one?

try ebay. i saw one for about $17 - used. new ones are also available, but are closer to $60.

Thanks for responding, I saw the same switch listing, tried it & worked a little better. There were no new ones listed, that fit, as of yesterday.

You can take it apart and clean the contacts. That's what I did and I've had no problems since.

The Ford OEM number that I came up with was F87B 11691-AC. I will need to find out is the PN from ebay is the same.


I will try to disassemble & clean the contacts also.
