I bought this from a co-worker who said he replaced the slave cylinder three times and is tired of having to do it. I previously owned a Ford Ranger XLT with the same motor and transmission. When I first bought that pickup, it had a bad grind going from first into second. I thought it had a bad transmission but a friend bled out the slave cylinder and I never had any other problems.
Does anyone think that maybe, just maybe, the Explorer problem is related and whoever worked on it to begin with did not know to bleed the system??
