1998 Mountaineer Swap

I have a 1998 Mercury Mountaineer, which I have totaled. the frame, drive train are fine. I want to swap out teh parts from this vehicle and put them in a vehicle with blown engine, bad interior, Bad trans etc. I have been told that I could bolt a ford ranger onto that frame. I am not sure what kind of vehicles and what years vehicles will " Mesh" up with this vehicle. Anyone know where I can find this information? Anyone got something I can put A V8 in?

you want to do all this for a vehicle that is worth $4000? go buy something new..

Welcome to the forum. The only vehicles that will bolt up directly with your Mountaineer are an '95-01 Explorer and a Mountaineer. IIRC, the Ranger is on a different frame. Both the Explorer and the Mountaineer are V-8 capable, both having come with the 5.0 with AWD.
