I bought this 98 AWD XLT Explorer used a few years ago, and the Mach audio sub in the rear quarter panel has never worked - it emits no sound at all. The stereo works fine, the door speakers work fine. The headunit is the CD player + tape combo. I'm starting to wonder if this might be a very simple fix and I'd like to take a crack at it.
Is this a common problem? How can I go about troubleshooting why there isn't any output? Lastly, whats the best method to get the cover off the sub to see the wiring, etc? Would like to avoid breaking anything whilst attempting to pry the cover off. Thanks!
