99 explorer 4wd
Hello,
I have a 1999 4wd 2 door ford explorer. I notice today when I would try to lock my door pushing the button the driver side was not working right. I all so notice it would move a little when I hit the button so I thought maybe a clip broke. But when I got out of the truck I notice just below the latch there was a hole in my door. I new that had something to do with the lock so I got a screw driver out and managed to get that bold back threw the hole and my lock would work right. now here is my problem. It looks like a plastic nut that goes on there, I look on the other door and compared. we have lots of snow here so if its out there then its gone :( ? where can I get a replacement and will I have to buy the whole unit inside the door and whats it called ? Thank you for your time and help I really appreciate it. This board has really help me a lot don't ever half to ask just search. :salute:

Looks like maybe just the rivet that holds the door lock actuator to the door broke. You just need to re rivet it to the door.

I stop at AutoZone after work and ask about that rivet. They don't have the kind I need for the door :( He said go to dealer or junkyard.

Semi good news. I went outside after work today and found that piece that locks the rivet from going back inside the door. Looks like it might go back on but I have to take the door apart to hole it in place.

I put a screw in mine and a washer/nut on the end. So far so good.
