I may have the oppertunity to buy this truck for $2500. The body is in good shape, motor runs fine trans is smooth, but it has 170K. The rear end is "howling" and that is the only problem I know of. It is "loaded" with leather and all that good stuff. I checked and a chevrolet rear end is $1000 at the local junk yards. My question is, is the truck worth the money? Can I fix the rear end myself by getting new gears and bearings and rebuilding the rear end?
I wouldn't normally buy a chevrolet, but it seems pretty cheap, and my wife's car is a POS due to electrical issues I can't sort out. I want to sell her car and buy this truck.
