1999 Explorer 4x4.Where is the 4x4 control module?

I'm having problems with my front end binding and clunking when turning when i'm in AUTO mode.I was told to disconnect the 4x4 control module and that it will put it in 2wd by doing that.Is that true?and if so,where is the module located on my 99 explorer?Thanks.

disconnect the relay...I dont know where it is in a 99, but for mine its under the dash in the middle....easier taking out the stereo, take about 2 minutes

What does the relay look like?

The GEM is what ultimately controls the system, and disconnecting it isn't going to happen without a significant number of wires being clipped. See my response in your other thread for how to proceed.
