I've noticed this winter that my 1999 Explorer sport has been running cold. The temp guage never goes much aboce the "C" mark. When it does and I put the heat on it goes below and stays there.
So I'm thinking about changing the thermostat.

Questions:

What temp thermostat is OEM
Anything else this can be?

Thanks for any help and advice you can offer

AT $10 and 15 minutes you can't go wrong. The thermostat is around 85c / 95c .. When you pull the old one out it should say on it. I think they come in 85/95/105 .. The place where you pick it up will tell you exactly which one you need.

Im not sure what stock is, I want to say its 180. (F)

I might be wrong, but I would be willing to bet money thats your problem. Theyre SO easy to change, I changed them on all 3 of my 4.0's in less than 10 minutes.

RockAuto has them for 160, 180, and 195 (F). All are between $1.50-$5.00 if you want to save a few bucks.
