1999 explorer sport system 1 remote keyless entry

Sounds like your keyless entry system is not factory...sounds like aftermarket to me. 99 sports that came the factory keyless entry came as a package with the door key pad and remotes.

Most aftermarkets come with a "Programing" or "Valet" botton.

Best way to find it is to try and locate where the control box is (normally under the dash near the drivers kick panel) and trace the wire from there.

That' exactly what I'll have to do. The system one is from Ford as it has a manual for it. They hired independents to install them. The Ford phone number for this system is 1-800-ford key.Thanks.

Well, aftermarket, that sure explains why homerl's system works so much differently than my 99!

Found the programming button. Ford said to cut the red ,and red with blue wire and splice together to get rid of the the starter override problem.The rice didn't work on this remote,it's toast.Thanks for any help.
