Hi, I just got my license and my dad gave me his 1999 explorer, the truck I grew up riding in, taking road trips in and drove for the first time in. I'm so proud to own the truck that I have so many memory's in. For 12 years we have been towing a very heavy boat that almost exceeds the towing capacity of the explorer. A few years ago the rear of the truck started to sag and over time it has gotten worse. I had no idea my dad was planing to give me his explorer so i had been saving up money for a used car. Now that I have the surprise of the explorer I want to use some of the money I saved to fix the rear end sag. Dose any one have any suggestions on how to fix it? Thanks and I hope I can get help often from the community of explorer lovers like me at serous explorations.

Welcome Frank :wavey:

Congrats on your new (to you) Ex!

The rear end sag is pretty common, and usually the driver side sags lower than the passenger side due to the concentration of weight on the driver side due to teh gas tank and other factors. With as much weight as your Ex has been moving for a long time, I'd probably get a new set of leafs. Check local spring shops, and the set will probably be ~$250-300 for a good set of replacements, shackles, hangars, and bolts, etc...

Thanks, just after i posted i realized it was in the wrong category. And thank you joe dirt this weekend i am planing to get new springs.
