1999 Ranger transmission has no reverse.

You should use a rebuilt torque converter with new valve body gaskets. Don't forget to flush the cooler lines too.

i am on the same page as you got a rebuilt VB and new Servo piston o rings and still no reverse only forward gears but even reverse goes forward......hope to get what you did if not might have to swap it out also

Hello again: Its time to finally fix this thing. The last transmission deal fell through. I have a chance to get one from a 95 explorer. I am being told its a 4r55e. Will this work with the same changes i would have had to make with the 97 Ranger trans i was looking at.

Hello again: I have purchased a 1998 Ranger 4x4 3.0 with a 5 speed standard. It has a bad frame. I am going to pull the auto and put the standard trans in. What all will i have to change in the electronics system to make this work.

brokenfoot--you are looking a very lot of work, there is a thread where someone did this but I can't find it. Computer, wiring, peddles, clutch, slave cylinder, etc. Also I don't think the 3.0 bell hsg will fit a 4.0. The trans is only one of many parts needed. Get another auto and save a whole lot of grief.
