1999 XLS door "unlock" not working

Started last week as once in a while thing. Progressed to only not working when the door was open, and now does not Unlock at all.

Pretty sure the wire in the door jam got pinched and eventually wore though completely.

Anyone know what color the wire is that controls this? To narrow it down?

When you press the unlock button, does the door button that moves up and down budge at all? Put your finger on it and press unlock and see if you can feel it trying to open. If you can feel it then try to grab it and twist it back and forth and keep hitting unlock. You either have a broken wire, broken door lock actuator or a broken latch. The broken latch is the most common thing.
