1st, 2nd gears loud? Is this normal?

93 Explorer, 5spd, 4x4. 1st and 2nd gear are noticeably louder than the other gears. Anyone have any idea why it would be louder in those two gears as compared to the other gears? I test drove two explorers and both made the same sound in 1st and 2nd. I bought the last one I drove. I'll check the fluid tommorow but was wondering if maybe it's just normal?

Yeah normally 1st and second are a little louder.

Thanks! Thats what I was hoping to hear. Have some other things to fix and wasn't wanting to have to tackle a tranny swap this soon in the game.
