nope , they won't fit.

Bump.

What about doors from a 92XLT onto a 92XL to gain power doors/windows?

Yes. 4 Door Explorers from 1991 to 1994 will all interchange. If you are wanting a challenge, you can even put 95-97 doors on a 91-94. There is a MAJOR change in wiring, and the connector itself on the Front Drivers Side door. But the outer skin is the same as 91-94.

Ryan

Yep just make sure if you have a 2dr to get 2dr doors and vice versa as the 2dr doors are longer than the 4dr doors.

what about on a navajo can i use 90 thru 94 ex doors for that

Yes, and other than the LF door(wiring connector hole), the other doors swap directly except for the wiring pre 95 to 95-01.

1991 to 1994 Ford Explorer Sport AND 1991 to 1994 Mazda Navajo doors are interchangeable.

1991 to 1994 Ford Explorer XL, XLT, Eddie Bauer and Limited doors are all interchangeable.

Okay, so they'll fit (no shocker). But I am confused on the wiring, which is really the question. Does an XL have all the wiring (less what's in the door of course) for the doors/windows?

That's a good question, Ryan, did they from what you've seen? The connectors will be the same between harnesses, but many high end features will only be in the harnesses for those trucks.

I started with a 1992 XL.

The doors ONLY had 2 wires for the speakers in them. When I upgraded to Power Windows, Door locks, and Mirrors I took them from my sisters 1992 Eddie Bauer. I had to run a TON of wires for everything...

The SHELLS are the same, but if you take a door from an XL, be prepared to swap in the mechanicals and electrical.

Ryan

I thought so, Ford likes to save money by making several different harnesses for each trim level.

I am thinking about doind what you did, but taking the doors off the XLT and using the wiring in those. Are you saying I would need add'l wiring in the engine compartment? Is there an easier way to add electric windows? I know how to do the locks, but not windows.

To make it all bolt in would require a lot of the wiring from the other vehicle. There is a body harness where almost all of the power window wires are. The main power for them comes from the dash harness and the under hood harness.

Ryan can say which he would do now that he has added them separately.

Blatant hijack!

Buy my doors... :D

I have a set of 91 manual doors -- no electric except the speaker. Also no rust for you northern dudes. First $50 gets all four.

What the hell would I do with 8 doors?!

;)

In think he wants to gain the power accessories. Since he already has manual doors.
But I do need a set of manual doors to make some half doors with. :D

$50 is a great price, go get them.
