2001 mountaineer
just bought a new set of upper control arms/ball joints and lower ball joints. I bought just the outer part of the passenger control arm/ball joint as I didn't know there was a 1 piece version available. Do I just unbolt it from the part that's connected to the chassis and replace? I've tried searching on the site and haven't come up with anything. It's a 2001 awd mountaineer, about 85,000 miles.

excatly.
just replace the outer portion

Dealership sold us the 1 piece version to replace the 2 piece ao RH side. Took it in for alignment yesterday but they said they can't align the right side per the specs. Why not? Have tried to get answers but getting nowhere! Help!

They simply didn't want to do it... THe tech at the dealership needs to update their training. Ford issued a TSB a while back when they stopped making the 2-piece arms, and all the dealerships should have gotten notice of that fact, as well as the updated service procedures.

The tech needs to get a clue, that's all...
