I have a couple of questions about my 06 Explorer...

1. When I have my defrost on, a light "thumping" noise can be heard every 30-45 seconds. Sounds like it is coming from the engine possibly? Is this normal?

2. When I have just my floor heater on high after about 1 minute...it starts making very loud noises, almost like a machine gun. I know this is not normal, but it only does it on the floor heater when it is on high. No other setting and it does not do it at any other setting. I just wonder what could be causing this.

I have 45,x.. miles on it. I bought the 6 year/100000 mile extended warranty on it, that covers virtually everything. I'd just like some input from you experts. Thanks.

I am no expert but I can offer some advice. I have an 06 v6 with about 46,000 miles on it. That stuff doesnt happen in my truck but it might just be something minor if anything at all.

I have an 06 and I also have the thumping, but not the machine gun sounds.

The thumping I think is just the a/c compressor kicking on for the defrost
