Rear wiper on 94 Explorer Sport stopped working about a month ago. There are three wires going to the motor, red, white and black. Black is ground and the red and white I assume are carrying voltage. Red has voltage and nothing at all on the white. I checked the switch and there is voltage on both the red and white wires, so somewhere inbetween there is a break. Anyone have any ideas?

Schematic attached. I assume this is the '94 in sig. If you have +12 on two wires, the third must be the return.

1. Measure the resistance to ground it should be zero. If not repair wiring. You can try to jumper in a ground.

2. Measure the resistance on the motor it should be greater than zero (I don't know the exact value). If open motor is bad. Verify with replacement motor.

3. The +12 on two of the wires eliminates the liftgate wiper disable switch as a problem

Thanks, great stuff! I'll be checking out that disable switch next.

Thanks again!

Turned out to be the liftgate wiper disable switch.

Thanks again, you were a big help! :D

So how does someone bypass that safety switch or buy a new one if needed?
