My son's 2000 3.0 ranger 2wd will not pull. He was traveling down the road and it suddenly stopped pulling. After pulling it home and letting it set for a few hours at 25 degrees outside it will try to move a little in all gears (r,d,2,1). There is not enough pull to get it over a small incline in the driveway.
Now, the fluid is clean, changed filter and fluid two months ago. The motor ."loads" when put into drive (Means pump is pumping ?). The o/d light flashed a few weeks ago but went away. Transmission code is " t " (4R44E I think ). I have read several posts about the 5R55E (plates, valve body's) but not much about this transmission. I am planning a pressure test this afternoon but I am looking for further steps to try other than than pulling it out.
Any help would be appreciated.

Welcome to this forum! It's a good idea to get the codes read. It might indicate what caused the failure. You have two pressure ports. One is the regular port, and the other one is for the EPC solenoid.

Thanks Brooklyn for the help. After further investigation the truck will go in 2, and in 1. It ran for about 1/4 mile in "d" then started slipping.
Looking here I found plenty of info on the 5r55 trans but not much on the 4r44. Is the vb rebuild the same ?

That's good, I could make an exploded diagram of my garage floor.
