The "kids" have a '98 Ranger "Farm Truck":
3.0L, 4R44E, 3.73LS, 30x9.5's, almost 200K on the odometer.
The price was right, but there are issues.
Primarily all the locks were broken or just not right.
There were 2 keys (No PATS) but one was "freshly cut" (from a worn key), and the other is smooth as butter - NO edges, totally worn.
Driver door lock didn't work at all, passenger side was sketchy (but most likely a key issue).
I have a 2000 Eddie Bauer (134k) being used for a different project (NAE5LTSTST), and I've upgraded the ignition cylinder for reasons, so I donated the keyed alike/working locks (but just 1 new key built from the lock code by a smith), each lock was cleaned and got treated to some OEM Motorcraft lock lube.
OpTest Sat, all good.
Everything is "Crisp" due to the new key/positive detents, and smooth due to the grease.
We'll see how they like it...
