Hello all

Newb here, and have some issues with my wifes Ex. It has had a sputter at hard acceleration for some time now, first noticed about a year ago and I played it off as being bad or clogged injectors that I will replace soon enough. So now I have done some research and the car has developed more issues since. now under regular acceleration it is not a smooth acceleration, and the sputter or flat spot has worsened and happens nearly everytime you press the throttle from a stop or roll past halfway it will sputter and then accelerate like normal.

So i a borrowing a friends scantool and have some questions.

The spark advance at idle is around 19-25 degrees which seems a little high to me but I may be wrong, also under heavy acceleration the spark adv drops to -.5 to -1 then advances like normal up to 38-42 degrees.

What would cause this?

Have you done the simple things like cleaning your MAF, swapping fuel filter and checking your fuel pressure?

Yea I have done the tune up items, fuel filter, spark plugs Autolite Double Platinums, Air filter, PCV valve. nothing touched it. my concern is the drop in timing, and it coincides with the stumble or flat spot. I am leaning towards knock sensor and/or tps sensor
