2000 explorer Base curb Weight ?

Does any one know the Base curb weight or dry weight of a 2000 explorer, 4door, 4.0L OHV (appox) ???

According to info found at www.edmunds.com the curb weight is around 3900 pounds.

hmm, i thought they would be heavier. well, mine is anyway.

Yep, the '92 is listed as about 200 pounds more than the 2000. I'm sure there is a few hundred pounds variation during the same model year also because of options, etc.

3900 lbs is for 4x2. . .4100 lbs for 4x4. you didn't mention which it was.

I was looking at payload ratings for my 98 and the EBs and Limiteds are rated at 900lbs while the XLTs are rated at 1100. I wonder if this is due to lighter springs or just 200 pounds of extra 'stuff' on the high end models (leather, air ride, sound deadener, more, better speakers, air ride, bigger tires/wheels (16"), etc.)
