Hello,
I am new to this board, please bear with a newbie. I have following issues with my 2000 Ford Explorer Eddie Baurer.
1.) My RPM guage fluctuates like crazy, sometimes it will work good, but then it would jump to 4000 rpm even though I am idling, this happens everyday and is very annoyning, truck runs fine when this occurs. I will sometimes jump up and come down, but this process goes on and on. It does come to 0 when I shut it off though but then acts the same way when I turn the truck back on.
2.) My check suspension light comes on, after I park my truck, I hear the air pump come on and stay on, I also hear a hissing sound like the air is escaping, it then turns off and then turns back on within seconds, this process repeats itself non stop untill it finally shuts off after few minutes. I suspect there is a leak somewhere as I could hear it, Is this a cheap fix, is this a common occurance.
3.) My truck wont idle when it is really cold, she will shut off, I have to hold my foot on the gas for few minutes, then it will stay idle, I looked around the forums, someone mentioned that this is caused by a dirty IAC, I dont know where this IAC is and how to clean it, could someoen take a picture or if you already have a picture of this IAC, would u please post it in this forum kindly. Also how would I go about of cleaning it.
4.) I get really bad gas mileage on this vehicle, I bought this truck brand new in 2000. I have got all the maintenance as required, never late, but somehow my gas mileage gets worse and worse, I read another post about cleaning the maf air sensor and throttle body which i did but so far they have created no results, I also run fuel injector cleaner every month. I also got a tune up on her, I get 16.5 littre per 100 kilometers. Is there any spark plugs that u would recommend that are better then others out there. any other tips would be very welcomed.
Thanks for you time to read this long post, before posting I read lot of posts which helped me a lot but could not come across my suspension and rpm guage problem, maybe I just couldn't find it, in that case I apologize as I tried my best to locate such posts. Thanks for your time and I am happy to find a new home.
Thank You
Vic
