Hello all: the items that do not work are windows, dome lights, puddle lights . and door chime sound. Found that the 10 amp fuse for the accessory delay was blown along with the lighter fuse in the interior fuse panel all others are good including the engine compartment box. I have remove drivers door and inspected the wires for breaks with no faults and no voltage in the blue/black supply wire, and have probed the wire as far back in the body harness as i can reach with no voltage found. checked the relays by the accelerator and all good with 12v supply present. Replacing the fuse did not fix the problem. I would like to inspect the harness but do not want to pull the dash to do so has anyone found a way to chase wires from center of dash to the door harness? will removing the instrument cluster help ? I have searched this and my problem seems to be other than the door connection. a wire diagram would be helpful so i could locate the splices for windows to interior light distribution Thanks for any help

Great source for wiring diagrams:
Auto - Online Repair Info
http://search.ebscohost.com/
Login ID: rrcc
Login PW: rebsco
Select: Auto Repair Reference Center
Fill in: Find Your Vehicle
Follow prompts down to Wiring Diagrams.

I just had a similar problem with the power windows and interior lights and found that it was an issue with the BCM (body control module). The power windows were intermittent, as were the interior lights. The BCM controls the accessory delay relay which affects both things: replacing the BCM restored normal operation. Got the BCM off Amazon for about $20. Good luck.

Thanks You are right the bcm or gem was defective i found the wiring diagram link from this site at ebscohost.com and the id is rrcc but i cannot read the pw although it is given in the post. they had complete diagram for most cars .. good site. the gem i needed had the letters bb not aa from and earlier 97 which i tried and while the windows worked the wipers would not shut off. turns out i had the correct one on the shelf that i had forgot about.
in this case if you dont find the problem in the door hinge area its faster to just throw parts at the problem than to try and trace the wires though the dash (relays and used gem)

Not sure what you mean by this statement, but rebsco is the password. Some have reported having to type it in caps (REBSCO) if it didn't work for you. Great site for free information.
