This might seem a little long but here goes. This morning i hooked up my utility trailer to get a little top soil. On my way stopped at a light and when i started off the transmission started to slip. I thought maybe fluid was low, stopped at a gas station and checked it. It was ok and nice and red. Continued on and it seemed alright. Got the soil and tranny really started to act up. Switched unto 4 wheel high and it seemed ok the rest of the way home. Went to get a coffee tonight without trailer and thought I would smack it into passing gear to see what happens. Well that really showed what was wrong. It slipped real bad. Then the OD off light on the dash started to flash and is still flashing. If I drive it gently it shifts ok.
This EX has been a real good unit for me so this issue comes as a real surprise to me. It now has 179K on it and I have not spent a nickle on it.

Any ideas or thoughts would be greatly appreciated

Thanks

Wayne

Wayne, welcome to EF! Has the trans been serviced regularly? The least you can do is drop the pan, change the filter, refill with new trans fluid, and flush the old stuff out. There are stickies at the top of the forum page to show you how to do everything. No trans service for 179k is brutal to an auto trans. Just my 2 cents...

ADD: You'll need to run the ecu for codes to find out what the trans is complaining about...
