2001 Explorer backup system stopped working.

My 2001 EB explored backup (RSS) system stopped working the off light comes on every time it goes in reverse.Is there a way to tell which sensor is bad or what's causing the problem.

Welcome to this forum! I've moved your thread into the stock 95-01 section. Did you check the fuses?

There are no fuses for the backup system labeled,I've seen other people discribe the same problem on newer vehicles and they all say it's a sensor but how do you check the sensors?

Check the wiring under the bumper to see if any of the sensors got unplugged or if the wire got ripped.

I checked the wiring unplugged the sensors and plugged them backed up no changed. Is there a way to check the sensors.

I had the same problem and it just started working again on its own. I'm curious to find out a fix too. My guess on mine (2000 Eddie Bauer SOHC V6) is there is a short somewhere, maybe under dash. I think I have some other issues there too because my cigarette lighter was blowing the fuse that is linked to the emissions/scanner testing plug in. Any help is greatly appreciated. Thank You.
