I have a 2001 Ford Explorer v6, When i got out this morning it seemed like when i put it in reverse or drive it didnt start to go. If you press on the gas it goes but seems like it has some resistance. I have no clue why it started doing this and was wanting someone to give me any insight into what could be wrong with it.
Thank you
Cody

Any more detail? Does it seem to go down the road with full power? Do you smell some toasty brakes from a seized caliper or parking brake?

I will get out and test it out and see if it goes full power or not. Thanks for looking

Pull the release for your parking brake.......................

Pull the release for your parking brake.......................

I've done that a few times myself because the brake light has a mind of its own.
One day it's working, the next it's out.

Mine never worked [or so I assume after a long drive completely frying the rear parking brake.. [I don't even have them anymore, completely removed them] I didn't even notice any drag or anything... good ol v8 I guess.... hah.. They weren't meant to stop/slow a moving vehicle anyways.. 'hence "parking" brake'

Ah the memories of mistakes made with the first vehicle.
