Hello, I cant get my truck to pass inspection as is showing not ready codes for the Evap - Egr. I have driven this truck now 200 + miles thinking by then would be reset be hasnt. Any ideas or direction to further pursue? Never had this problem in the past, always ran like a champ. Is there a reset type procedure I may can do?
Thanks for any insight..

Your gas cap may not be on tight. Check it and see if the code goes away.

This will explain the conditions needed to set the OBD2 readiness codes. It's not just driving around. Only certain, very specific driving will run all the system monitors/checks.

Next time, try using the search feature. That's how I found the above link, along with several related threads.

I did check and seems to be fine. This even passed the state inspection as well and appears to be in good shape. I drove all today and still could not get the EGR and EVAP to set themselves. Put on scanner twice today at different intervals and still shows not ready with no error codes or signs of engine problems, all else is fine. Im puzzled, thanks for the direction.

Thanks for the info. I did try all today to get the EVAP and EGR to set themselves, but still shows not ready. I did excatly what the directions indicated to do and thought was on track but just didnt get to set. I still show no error codes or having any signs of engine problems and just puzzled why wont reset still, really thought after the info I recieved would do the trick, but didnt. I drove at least 200 miles today again, but just didnt work again. I did call Ford today and they said that sometimes could take up to 1000-1500 miles before they reset themselves and temp can have a role with this as well. Both times I scanned the truck today still shows all others areas covered with state inspection are good or ready status, but the EGR and EVAP still shows not ready, and they wont pass with these. If I can get one to set im cool as can pass with one not ready, but wont let me pass state inspection with two. I do thank you for the info you reffered me to and any other suggestions are welcome.
Thanks

Wanted to send a quick note back at ya, sorry for the late response. After a couple of attemps of reseting by driving, I finnaly got the EGR to set. Think Temp is slowing down the EVAP as been cold here like everywhere else, and think will set once warms some. Thanks again for the info as was spot oon man,
Thanks Again!!!!
