2001 sport trac 331 stroker swap vss with 97 ecu

Finishing up my stroker swap now trying to figure out vss. Using 97 5.0 into 2001 sport trac. Any help would be greatly Appreciated

Are you trying to get the speedo to work or the transmission to shift?

Both at the moment neither are working trans shift but soft

What year transfer case are you running? You have the vss plug off the back of the trans right?

That 97 PCM wants a VSS from the back of the trans or TC. The VSS from the rear ABS sensor should work also, 1998 up has those.

I don't recall if others got the OSS signal from the middle of the trans to work. That's an issue I will have to work out too.

I got bw4406 manual with vss in tail shaft already wired up. This engine before rebuild was in my sport 2 door. Was reading a thread from ttbit Separating signal at Main harness and grounding them. Making two different speed set ups. One for ecu and one for cruise abs and speedo. But need insight or harrness diagrams

Yes needed a gear drive speed sensor had tone ring. Swapped out tail shafts housing.
