2001 sport trac brake problem

I replaced the front rotors and pads and bled the brakes, used Napa rotors and there Optima pads ever since when going very slow and applying the brakes it feels like the left front brake is releasing . Doesn't do it all the time just once in a while but only at slow speed.The truck has 105k and the brakes have been done about 2 other times checked the back and all looks good any help is appreciated

Sounds like a possible ABS issue. Is the pedal pulsing when braking at slow speed? RWD ABS sensors are easy to clean, 4WD not.

No pulsation at all just feels like the caliper is releasing right before it is about to stop and like I said it doesnt do it all the time about 1 in 10.It wasnt doing it before the brake job.Ive double checked part #s for everything and its correct.How do u clean the ABS sensors it is RWD

Removing the sensor wire is not necessary. Unbolt and clean the magnetic face. Torque to 9 ft/lbs. Unlikely fix, but easy.

Thanks for the help, sounds like it could possibly b a bad toner ring on the rotor, will clean the sensors and see if that helps truck is at the airport parking till Fri so will check it out then

OK so I cleaned the front sensors and its no help,still the same problem I have no ABS light and no other codes,since this problem started after I changed the rotors is it safe to assume that the new rotors have a different toner ring and that is what is causing this

Before removing the rotors I would bleed the brakes again. Even though you don't have an ABS light or codes,
try removing the ABS fuse and see if the pedal issue persists. Any possibility that air got into the ABS system?

ST brakes are known for sticking caliper slide pins and hardware, make sure they are cleaned and lubed properly.

I bled the brakes after the pedal started pulsating thinking that might b the problem I dont think any air got in the system.The pedal feels really good except for at very slow speeds I will pull the fuse and see if that does anything Thanks

I am eager to hear what you find out. Mine has started doing this every blue moon at 110K. The most consistent scenario is turning into a parking spot in my parking garage. Feels like right right front does it.

It turned out to b the wrong toner ring on my new rotors, the Napa rotors gap were about 5/32 went and got rotors from autozone and the gap was 3/32 changed out rotors and hasn't happened since, yours could b an ABS sensor maybe just needs cleaned
