2001 Sport trac possible torque converter problem

I recently did the tedious task of replacing the timing chains on my 4.0 and now it runs like a champ but a few weeks later and now it seems i have another problem the other day i noticed i am having to give more revs in order to shift and just doesn't feel like its driving right, so i check the transmission fluid and it was low so i added and drove for 20 miles and check again. It was a brown tint which i know is not good since i changed it about 5000 miles ago then when i put it into park it lunged and stalled. Based on what i have seen i have come to the conclusion that its a possible torque converter problem but i would like some input as i want to be sure before i order one and start this project. Truck has 145xxx on it and i dont think its a transmission problem.

See the thing is its not throwing any codes so idk what the problem is .

Sure it reads transmission codes? What brand and model did you use?
