2001 Trans problems

I have a 2001 explorer limited edition automatic has just started when going to the 2nd gear it makes a little high reving sound then changes fine and the rest of the gears are fine. Today I noticied the o/d light flashing on and off. Just recently changed the alternator could this have anything to do with this?

Welcome to this forum! The flashing light means that there is a code stored. You should find out what the code is. It is a fault code related to the transmission.
