2001 X dies in cold weather

my buddies x will not stay running with out reving the engine until it is warm. He says this only happens on really cold mornings. He must keep his foot on the accelerator for 2-3 minutes until it warms up before it will idle normal. Does anyone have any insight as to why the X would do this. thanks.

IAC needs to be cleaned. Bad intake manifold o-rings if he has the SOHC engine.

I had the same thing happen on my X. It was the throttle position sensor. You let it go long enoughf you will have to drive with one foot on the gas all the time.
