I am very worried my dealer is giving me the run around!
I have just purchased a 2001 Explorer 4X4 XLT 4.0 SOHC with 17,000 kms on it. It is awesome except for the following:
Between 45 and 70 kms/hr, when you are driving on smooth pavement, and not accelerating or deccelerating, the truck bucks - like its trying to shift gears every few seconds. The outside temp is freezing or a little below with low humidity.
The dealership's mechanic rules out the 4X4 cut over and says the engine is not the problem - running smooth as glass. He also says all the Ford's do it. He has registered the problem with Ford but holds out little hope. He has updated the PCM.
Any similar experiences or suggestions?
