It seems everyone on this website has pre 2002 Explorers and Mountineers. Has anyone out there done any performance mods to 2002 and up Explorers and/or Mountineers? The 4.6 isn't that bad to play with (but I would ALWAYS rather have a 302).

You want to talk to SaleenEXP about the 4.6 Explorer performance mods. He hasn't done anything in real life yet :D , but in his head he's already built the fastest 02+ Mounty on your side of the Mississippi! :D

I knew Section would chime in:p

I've come to a final decision, either an 03' 4.6 Mounty or an used 03' Cobra. We have to wait untill the summer time to get the truck b/c if we buy one know it's gonna screw up all my scholarships that are setup as if we have basically nothing, heh hehm tricked them;) . I'd have to register the truck at school (private college) and if they saw a truck like that on their, they would revoke my scholarships for the year which total about 30,000.

So we're gonna wait until this semester is over so we don't have to pay the tuition for this year, oh well I'll wait, probably would have had on last summer if I didn't end up getting hooked on S4's only to decide not to get one.

As Section knows, if I get the Mounty over the Cobra, it'll have a Kennebell twin-screw charger, full mandrel bent true dual exhaust thanks to Blk Mk8 and Troll (Bill), normal bolt on's, and I'm still waiting for Kennebells email back regarding their Blowzilla upgrade. I'm really hooked on the 03' Cobras though after my friend who has a modded one.

I've contacted Performance West a couple times (they built an 02' Mounty for Truckin SUV) and they (and other companies) have had a lot of request regarding the 02'+ 4.6 Explorers/Mountys.

But i've also thought about finding an older (early 80's late 70's) Porsche 911 SC that I could have rebuilt at a friends dads' shop that specializes in foreign sports cars. I would love to track that car on race track, I'm just worried about maintenance b/c although their reliable, if that air-cooled engine blows or breaks it's a lot of $$$$$ to fix, plus it would have to be my daily driver so......
