2002 AWD transfer case is blown

so my 2002 awd eddie bauers transfer case is blown.. When it engages in 4wd hi or low you can't turn the wheel without the car jumping. I took to a shop and they told me that the transfer case is bad and wont fully engage.

Im pretty pissed as the part is $1700, anyone have any leads on used ones?
