2002 Explorer engine light (code translation)

My son-in-law and daughter just got a 2002 explorer xlt this past friday and we were pretty impressed with the shape of the truck, ran and drove really well and then Sunday my daughter called and told me that the "service engine" light had come on and the O/D light was flashing and I told her to press the O/D button on the end of the gearshift. After doing this, no change. When she returned home,turned off the truck and in a few minutes I went out, started the truck and drove it around the block with no problem at all and no O/D light. The service engine light was still on so today we put the scan tool on it.The reading was (press. ctrl. sol.b circuit malfunction) Can someone tell me what this means. Any help would be appreciated.

Its something to do with the shift solenoids. Sorry I'm not very educated in that part but I had the same problem in my sport trac. Over time it will start slipping while changing to a specific gear. For example mine was slipping going from 2nd to 3rd gear.
