On an extremely cold night, a few nights ago, a relative borrowed my Explorer. They rolled the driver's window all the way down. And now it will not roll back up. You can hear sounds like it is trying to roll up. All of the other windows work fine. Could it have jumped it's track ??? I am usually a self sufficient, do - it- myself kind of lady , but I am at a stand still. I have the door panel off and can see the bottom of the window , but now I am stumped. What is next ??? Do I have to take the metal panel off ??? If it is off track, how do I put it back??? Help would be greatly appreciated as it's very cold here. Thanks in advance, :exp: girlky
PS... It is not off track... it sounds like a crackling plastic or something. Could it be the gears ??? There is a cable that is going from what appears to be from the motor to the window pulley (or whatever it is). The end of this cable has broken plastic as well. I am sorry if I am not making sense. If it's the gears how do I replace them. I can't afford a dealer to fix it.
