I have a 2002 V-6, AT 4x4 Explorer. Around the speed of 25 mph, there is a clunk or thud that seems to be in the trans. I occurs about where an upshift should happen. First time I heard or felt it, it sounded like I ran over a golf-ball size rock. Well, that wasn't it. It seems to be in the trans and occurs randomly. But, when it does, it is around 25-27 mph.

Someone on another website said there was a TSB (which I cannot find), and a trans reprograming seemed to correct the problem.

Any suggestions, TSBs, SSMs, or remedies will be appreciated. If you have specific TSB, etc. and their numbers, I would appreciate it.

The only advice I could give you is too get that thing back to the dealer. Your bumper to bumper warranty will cover that problem.

I mentioned a while ago that I had some transmission problems. (see post above)

I found the SSM, or TSB numbers. The computer was reprogrammed and the transmission now works fine.

If anyone has the problem I mentioned a couple of months ago and wants the ssm or tsb numbers, contact me.

Hi glad you got the problem solved. I have the same problem, The dealer reprogramed the tranny 2 times, no help. They then replaced the tranny, still no better. They replaced the tranny again, still no better. I bought the car used, so could not use the lemon law. I did get the dealer to give me an extended power train warenty.
Please let me know TSBs, SSMs, or remedies that you found.
Thank you
Lenny
